Aldon Fully Supports IBM’s RDI

Aldon embraces IBM's investment in Rational Developer for System i

Emeryville, CA—April-24-2008—Aldon®, the leading provider of process-driven application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions, today announced it is fully compatible with IBM’s Rational Developer for System i Version 7.1 (RDi).

IBM is replacing the WebSphere Development Studio Client 7.0 (WDSc) and WebSphere Development Studio Client Advanced Edition 7.0 (WDSc AE) with RDi, effectively drawing the System i platform into the Rational Developer fold. RDi V7.1 is an Eclipse-based development workstation that includes application diagram support for ILE RPG, ILE COBOL, and CL.

IBM has revamped the development tool products for the System i platform to map to Rational’s functionality for other platforms. The important tools that are key to the System i will be preserved. IBM plans to sunset product support for WDSc and WDSc AE in spring 2010.
